Honest expectations

What "syncs on provision" means in practice

The instance is ready within a minute of payment, and Bitcoin Core begins its initial block download immediately. Initial sync takes one to two days on this hardware; the RPC answers fully once the node reaches the chain tip. Your order page shows the endpoint and credentials right away so you can watch getblockchaininfo progress.

What you get is the node, not a shell. The order page gives you the JSON-RPC URL on a dedicated port plus the RPC username and password generated for your node. Point your wallet, indexer or application at it. If you need root on the machine to run a different client or configuration, order a VPS instead.

Keep the credentials private. The RPC port is reachable from the internet and protected by those credentials. Anyone with them can query and broadcast through your node.

No backups, not mirrored. A full node can re-sync from the network, which is exactly why it suits this model. It carries no wallet of yours unless you put one there.

Is the RPC endpoint public?

It listens on a dedicated public port of the node's location and requires the username and password from your order page. Use it over a VPN or SSH tunnel from your own VPS if you want it off the open internet entirely.

Is it pruned?

No. It is a full node with the transaction index enabled, so getrawtransaction works for any transaction, which most indexers and explorers need. For a pruned or lighter setup, a custom VPS with the disk you need is cheaper.

Which client and version?

Bitcoin Core, current release at provisioning time. Because you do not have shell access to the node instance, upgrades are done by us; order a VPS if you want to manage the client yourself.

Where should I place the node?
